Welcome! I am a first-year DPhil student in Politics at the Department of Politics and International Relations and Nuffield College, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
My DPhil project examines the formation of political attitudes in adolescence and early adulthood through a process of socialization within the family. Specifically, it aims to understand the mechanisms through which parents influence their children's political development and how political socialization within the family is affected by wider social, economic, and political environments.
More broadly, I am interested in questions related to attitude and preference formation, voting behaviour, political trust, democratic norms, inequality and redistribution, and radical right parties. I also have a methodological interest in causal inference with observational data.
Prior to starting the DPhil, I obtained an MPhil in Comparative Government (Distinction, MPhil Thesis Prize) from Lincoln College, University of Oxford and a BSc in Philosophy, Politics and Economics with Social Data Science (First Class Honours, Dean's List) from University College London.
I am committed to improving access to academia (especially for people from underrepresented groups), so feel free to get in touch if you need advice about pursuing graduate study in Political Science.
